The Beginning

Hello everyone!  Benjamin had a blog but I just couldn't figure it out (electronics, not my forte) so I've created this one and we'll all be able to add to it.

We have begun the next phase of our family life!  Our complete family and a home of our own.

Our family is full, at least we think so.  Benjamin, my very ambitious and successful husband, and I have 3 beautiful children.  Entegra, our oldest, is currently 4 and almost 5.  She wants to be an aeronautics engineer (her words ingrained by daddy).  She is really smart and very opinionated.  Inara is our middle child and likes to trip over thin air.  She is so sweet and also very opinionated.  Bracken is our newest addition and a super happy baby.  He's probably so happy because he gets held ALL THE TIME.  I'm happily staying home with my children, just trying to make sure they're properly fed, clothed, and partly educated by me.

We bought a house!!  Or rather, we're working on it and stuff keeps popping out of the woodwork making things just a little more stressful every other week.  We're very excited about our new home.  It is about 1 1/2 acres with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and an unfinished basement we hope to turn into a family room, storage room, and another bedroom.

We already have so many plans for our home.  First being a vegetable garden in the back yard.  We're super excited to use our backyard for so many things.  We'll dry our clothes out there during the spring, summer, and warm fall months (or so we say).  We'll grow all types of veggies and fruits.  Currently it's covered in moss which we want to turn into grass so the kids can run and play.  Past our drain field (bleh), we have woods, beautiful woods (actually, not all that gorgeous, we're just excited to have more than 5 feet of a back yard).  We think we may need to clear out some of those trees for our garden so that there isn't any contamination issues, however we've looked into veggie gardens near drain fields and we should be fine, in fact, things should grow really well so long as we don't plant directly on the field.

Of course we want to finish the basement.  We can't really agree on the exact way we want the rooms to be yet but we'll get there.  Eventually we'd like to take out the wall between our kitchen and dinning room and put a kitchen island there instead.  One day, if we decided to live there long enough, we may even expand some part of the house so that we can have a bigger kitchen and master bath.

All these ideas...  We have just started our seeds in starter pellet thingys.  Entegra and Inara really enjoyed helping.

That's all for tonight.  It's late and the babies are sleeping.  Good night.
